The Weltwald (Arboretum)

This forest is truly unique! In Bad Grund’s exotic arboretum, you can see trees from all continents – including the Giant Redwood tree!

The Arboretum has been there now for almost 40 years. It is an extraordinary collection of different trees, which the Forest Agency of Lower Saxony planted in 1975 for research on how well foreign trees can grow in our climate.

Spread over 50 acres, nature lovers can contemplate unusual trees from South East Asia, the Mediterranean, Western North America and the Caucasus. The different areas are presented in a fascinating way, and you will find it very interesting even if you are not a scientist!

There are more than 520 different species to see. A modern guidance system provides the visitor with detailed information.

A very beautiful and detailed description of such a tour, with impressive photos, can be found on this website: "Schöner-Ausflug.de" ... (only in German)
